📈 Today's Market Pulse
🎯 Today's Recap
Someone forgot to tell September it's supposed to be the market's grumpiest month. All three major indexes closed comfortably in the green Thursday, with the Nasdaq leading the pack up 1.40% to 26,584.06. The S&P 500 added 1.06% and the Dow tacked on 1.18%.The rally had a distinctly risk-on flavor. Bitcoin surged 5.25% to just over $81,000, dragging crypto-adjacent names like Strategy (MSTR) up a jaw-dropping $21.63 on the day. Treasury yields eased slightly, with the 10-year slipping to 4.76%, and a softer dollar (DXY down to 98.99) gave risk assets even more room to run.
Software earnings did plenty of the heavy lifting, and retail traders clearly showed up ready to play.

🚀 What Moved Markets
The AI trade got fresh fuel from earnings. DocuSign (DOCU) raised its sales outlook for the second time this year, crediting stronger demand tied to artificial intelligence. Zscaler (ZS) jumped after topping fiscal Q4 estimates, with CEO Jay Chaudhry pointing to momentum in the company's agentic security tools.Retail favorites lit up the options market too. Robinhood (HOOD) climbed $17.73 and Tesla (TSLA) added $19.35 as traders piled into bullish bets on the usual crowd of momentum names, kicking off the historically weak month with anything but caution.
Not everyone joined the party. Ciena (CIEN) tumbled $36.70, and Lululemon (LULU) lowered its annual revenue and profit forecasts ahead of incoming CEO Heidi O'Neill, a sobering reminder that consumer demand remains uneven.

🎭 Investor Mood
There's real substance underneath the froth, though. DocuSign and Zscaler beating and raising tells you the AI spending story still has legs, and healthcare had a bright spot with Ionis (IONS) winning FDA approval for the first-ever treatment of a rare brain disorder.
Still, the Lululemon guidance cut and Ciena's slide are little pockets of anxiety worth noting. Not every corner of the market is feeling the love.
🔍 Tomorrow's Watchlist

- More software earnings after strong prints from DOCU and ZS, testing whether the AI demand story keeps delivering
- Retail trading momentum in HOOD and TSLA and whether the options frenzy cools or accelerates
- The 10-year Treasury yield at 4.76% and a softening dollar as tailwinds for risk assets
- Auto sector developments: VW's 9% margin target and the Congressional push to ban Chinese vehicles

💸 The Takeaway
September has a nasty historical habit of humbling optimists, so the smart move is to enjoy the rally without falling in love with it. The AI earnings narrative from DOCU and ZS is encouraging, but one strong Thursday doesn't rewrite the calendar.Keep an eye on how the crypto surge holds up. A 5% Bitcoin move is exciting, but it can reverse just as fast, and names like MSTR amplify both directions. The soft dollar and easing yields are quietly supportive, and worth tracking.
On the macro front, watch the auto and trade storylines. Volkswagen's turnaround plan and the industry push to ban Chinese vehicles both hint at a reshaping global playing field that could ripple through markets for months.
